Reference national standard: ferrotungsten (GB/T 3648-2013)
product description:
Iron alloys mainly composed of tungsten and iron. It also contains impurities such as manganese, silicon, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, and tin. Used as an alloy additive in steelmaking. Commonly used ferrotungsten contains 70% tungsten and 80% tungsten. Ferrotungsten is prepared from wolframite by carbon reduction in an electric furnace. Mainly used as alloying element additive for tungsten-containing alloy steel (such as high-speed steel).
Application range and purpose:
Ferrotungsten is used as an additive for tungsten in steelmaking and casting, and tungsten is one of the most important alloying elements in the production of special steels. Tungsten can increase the strength limit and yield point of the steel while reducing the elongation of the steel to a small extent, and also improve the hardness and wear resistance of the steel. It is particularly important that tungsten has a good effect on the high temperature mechanical properties of steel, which can improve heat resistance and tempering stability.
