product description:

Ferrovanadium is an iron alloy whose main components are vanadium and iron, and also contain impurities such as sulfur, phosphorus, silicon, and aluminum. It is obtained by reducing vanadium pentoxide with carbon in an electric furnace, and it can also be obtained by reducing vanadium pentoxide by an electric furnace silicothermic method. It is mainly used as an alloy additive in steelmaking, and high vanadium ferrovanadium is also used as an additive for non-ferrous alloys. Commonly used ferrovanadium contains 40%, 60% and 80% vanadium.

Application range and purpose:

Mainly used for smelting alloy steel. About 90% of the vanadium consumed in the world is used in the steel industry. Vanadium mainly refines grains in ordinary low-alloy steels, increases steel strength and inhibits its aging effect; in alloy structural steels, it refines grains and increases the strength and toughness of steel; in spring steels, it is combined with chromium or manganese Use to increase the elastic limit of steel and improve its quality; in tool steel, it mainly refines the structure and grain of the steel, increases the tempering stability of the steel, enhances its secondary hardening effect, improves its wear resistance, and prolongs the tool. In heat-resistant steel and hydrogen-resistant steel, vanadium also plays a beneficial role; vanadium added to cast iron promotes the formation of pearlite due to the formation of carbides, making cementite stable, and the shape of graphite particles is fine and uniform , refine the matrix grains, thus increasing the hardness, tensile strength and wear resistance of the casting.
